Robin and Patrick on Friday and today were AMAZING.

Kim and Jason are such good actors, they can make crap sound pretty good (and look great!) But when they're given material that's relatively decent, their characters and actions are just...riveting.

Everything about today was perfect. When Patrick called Claudia a bitch, when he said he wanted to give her a voluntary colonoscopy, when he offered to drive Robin home but warned her not to puke in his car...all swoon worthy.

And Robin was just as great. Admitting that what she'd been doing went against her nature, and opening up just a little bit more. It was lovely.

Sadly, I know that somehow this moment will get all messed up, because nothing good between these two ever stays, and because Guza sucks, and because it wouldn't be "dramatic" enough to have Patrick gradually realize how much he wants to be a father to this baby. In a perfect world......

the writers really do need to have Patrick apologize now... it's unfair to me as a viewer to have to be pissed at a beautiful, non-mob involved character when it would be sooo easy to redeem him. a heart-felt apology would go a long way in this case. they had Robin step up and own her actions, now it's time for Patrick to do the same.

I agree totally agree, iloveKmc. Patrick is one of the few characters on this show that is rootable and doesn't have a job killing people.

However, this is why the powers that be keep writing him into this woman-hating, man-whore trap. If there's a male character on this show who is actually intelligent and not a criminal, it makes people wonder why mobsters are so desirable!

I love Robin and Patrick, but I have a bone to pick with this pregnancy storyline. As a fellow pregnant woman, I'm offended by GH turning pregnant Robin into a total cartoon. All she does is have mood swings. I'm not denying that comes along with the package, but I'm still pretty in control of my faculties, have hidden my pregnancy pretty well up to this point, and function as a normal adult. I may feel emotional, but I still behave maturely and professionally at most times, and ALWAYS at work.

Pregnant women can still be rational and have things to talk about besides how often they throw up and pee! I still have a life outside of the "muffin" (I did like Robin's cute name for the baby!).

Considering that Brian Frons and Bob Guza are two of the biggest sexists to walk the face of the earth (and Jill Farren Phelps is an enabler), its predictable that they would not be able to write a pregnant woman without cliche.

Cliches, ugly dress (seriously: that thing was fug!) and all, I loved loved loved Robin and Patrick yesterday.

And although I'm sure it's been done before, I took it as an homage to my other favorite couple, Jim and Pam, when Robin fell asleep on Patrick's shoulder. Would that their relationship could be as consistantly well written as that one.

I was thinking the same thing SwanSinger. I have never been pregnant myself but I have a twin sister who is currently on muffin number two and she has maintained a normal balanced life outside of her pregnancy. Sometimes I think this whole S/L is just a joke to TPTB.

When are they going to actually write this storyline without completely abusing Robin's self-esteem? Can't her mother even be freaking happy for her?

And did Patrick also say she wasn't pretty because she's pregnant? ARGH.
