Maybe I've lost it...and Iwon't really argue with you over it....but my cable guide description of today's episode said..."Johnny and Luly worry they'll will have to return home."
I know the first place I saw Lulu called Luly was here on Serial Drama.....and I'm admittedly paranoid like Luke Spencer....but I did find it hysterical.......
Janaynay- 08-15-2008
Who else laughed when Lulu found out Johnny was taking her to Shadybrook? Maybe they'll leave her there for awhile, with any luck.
I'm sure I speak for lots of people when I say that GH is squandering Julie Marie Berman's talent on an asinine storyline. We know she's got it in her. But when you've got crap to work with, there's only so much you can do.

I think Julie Marie Berman is doing quite an admirable job in a poorly-written story. I find myself getting drawn into Lulu's pain and feeling very sympathetic toward her character (that's all her acting because it sure as heck isn't the writing).
However, if this is the best story the writers can come up with for Guza's pet couple, it bodes poorly for everyone else on the show. It's hard for me not to get frustrated.

I haven't posted in a while, but this particular conversation had me seething.
Jason to Bernie as they discuss what a terrible burden (and not at all self-imposed or anything) it is for Jason to actually make the decisions (you know, about who gets to live and die, just your everyday, run of the mill, God-like decisions) rather than taking orders (to KILL PEOPLE!) from Sonny:
"Yeah,[I killed people when Sonny ordered the hits, (OK, so I added that bit but that was the gist of it)] but the burden was still on Sonny. If he was wrong, he would have taken the fall. Now it's all on me."
Uhhhh, WHAT?! I'm sorry, I wasn't aware that simply taking orders from your boss was a justification for murder. Seriously, WTF kind of logic is this? It doesn't even make sense. I mean, Jason, I know you are brain damaged and all but COME ON! I'm pretty sure by actually doing the killing you are, in fact, actively sharing "the burden." Taking orders from your mob boss does NOT vindicate your nasty little habit of KILLING OTHER HUMAN BEINGS?! I can totally see this defense. "Hey, it wasn't my idea, Sonny told me to do it! So I'm not at all responsible for so and so's death even though I stalked them to find the best angle in which I could more accurrately take away their right to life and then pulled the trigger. I did the majority of the work, but, seriously, it's not my fault." In what moral universe does that leave one "burden" free?
So now that Jason is the boss, he is suddenly responsible for his own (murderous) actions? But when Sonny was the head honcho, he was just taking orders and, thus, morally exempt from the more seedy consequences of said orders? I may be completely off-base (I doubt it), but that is one of the most ridiculous things this show has ever implied. And this is the show that constantly implies (if not outright states) that its moral center is a man who KILLS PEOPLE FOR MONEY!
Obviously simply ranting about this won't do much good. Maybe if I take my issues directly to the source, I'll see some results.
Dear Jason,
You seriously suck. Like, alot. I think it would be better for both of us if you pack up your convoluted, self-serving moral code and go away. Please?
Thanks,
KLe
P.S. Oh, and while you're at it, take your shrieking harpy of a best friend and her annoying shrew of a cousin with you. My ears are starting to bleed because I don't have the reaction time to hit the mute button when they unfailingly appear on my television.
No? Damn it! I said "please." Why do I still watch this terrible excuse for a show?
AdamPascalFan- 08-25-2008
Oh KLe I am so glad I missed that particular nugget of genius becuase I KNOW I would have had the exact same reaction as you...but as it is...I totally realize that right now we are in what I have dubbed The Red Eyes Of Emmy Bait. See since about no one buys all this nonsense anymore about how Jason is "sacrificing" anything for Jake by staying away from him (since you know I've yet to see him do anything that would be construed as wanting to be near the child). Even the mags are over this supposed great secret pain and are basically ignoring it outright or publishing letters and editorials mocking it.....so now we are being beaten over the head that NONE of this alleged pain he's going through is Jason's fault. It's just not. Suddenly even though I clearly recall everyone and their mother telling Jason going into business with Sonny was a bad idea and Jason basically telling EVERYONE to stuff it....now it's all Sonny's fault that he can't walk away. (As oppposed to Sonny who can repeatedly supposedly) It's why its being implied and sometimes outright stated that the reason why Liz and Jason can't be together (ohh look tiny violens playing) is all on Liz. She can't handle it. She has the issue. It's not Jason. We are supposed to be feeling the sorrow for Jason because damn it life just isn't fair to him. Why can't he just murder people and live a happy life like everyone else dang it!
And why we continue to watch this crap is the million and seven dollar question. My answer is simple. Greg Vaughan is hot. Swallow but there it is. Also some other stuff of remembering how great it was and so on...but right I'm down to Greg is hot.

Caught a bit of the show yesterday in which Carly (while speaking to Jax) once again referred to herself as this strong, independent woman. Just thought that I would check in to share that this idea constantly being shoved down my throat by Guza, still doesn't, and will never convince me that it's true. Get a clue Guza!
AdamPascalFan- 08-27-2008
You mean that idea along with Jason being the be all end all ideal for a specimen of Male Perfection on Earth or the idea that the mob is clearly a better choice than say somethign law abiding and that all cops are morons and only arrest people out of jealousy and revenge doesn't stick if you hear ad nasuem all day every day? Do tell junie! However I'm with you. She could lip synch "Independent Women Part 1" by Destiny's Child WITH Beyonce at this point and I'd still roll my eyes and go "yadda yadda married into everything she's got and hasn't held the same job for longer than a minute."
I do have to say Lucky asking if JAson's assessment of what Lulu needs during her mental breakdown was due to his new found career as a psychiatrist made spew milk out of my nose. I did try to swallow the bitter pill that remark SHOULD have been made when Jason was telling the world who had PPD and who didn't but still.. Jason zingers are always appreciated.
juniemoonie- 08-27-2008
I totally didn't see the Jason zinger!! If you have it on youtube please share.
I love when they allow Lucky to sound like a SPENCER for even a second.
AdamPascalFan- 08-28-2008
Sadly I do not have the You Tube clip...but I do have the transcript of the best part ever. The bolded parts are my favorite

Jason: Don't go. Lucky: Get the hell away from me, or I'll have you locked up for impersonating my brother or taking lulu from shadybrook. Jason: She needed to see him. Lucky: Huh, is that your official diagnosis because you are a psychiatrist now? Jason: No, no. All I did was listen to lulu. Lucky: Well, lulu is having a breakdown. She's not making the best decisions for herself. So you didn't do her any favors. Go away. Stay the hell away from her. Jason: Lulu wants this. Don't make it any harder on her. |
Dear Dr. Jason...shut up. And Lucky...go ahead and punch him. Totally a free pass on that one. Actually Lucky you have free pass for life to beat up Jason from me. Just saying.
Also anyone like to take a stab at explaining why when Jason's been on TV AND in the papers and such...and Nik as well....why anyone would believe he's Nik Cassadine? Or why his mug is no where to be found in Laura's room in all the pictures of her family that are there? I'm just a little confused as to why when they need to discuss the "danger" Jason is so well known.....but yet when its to shoehorn him into things he has nothign to do with suddenly no one knows what he looks like. Oh wait...never mind...answered my own question.
juniemoonie- 08-29-2008
The sad state of this show:
Today's example, Jerry pulls a gun on Matt in the alley and neither Maxie nor Matt really flinch. Because it's just normal for that kind of behavior on this show now. They almost seemed like they were joking around while Matt had a gun pointed at his head.
I Hate Guza. Eternally.
juniemoonie- 09-12-2008
This ridiculous trial is some of Guza's worst written crap to date. Please for all that is good, stop the insanity!
AdamPascalFan- 09-16-2008
IT ENDS TODAY! IT ENDS TODAY!!!! Or at least that is what my TV told me...if its wrong...kitchen chair will meet tv screen in a high flying fashion.
AdamPascalFan- 09-29-2008
Alright maybe its just me but I personally feel that if a guy dumps in an airport to help with the shooting of the fiance/new wife of my ex-business partner/"brother" at her wedding by the mob that I can't attend becuase well everyone there hates me and its dangerous......I'm thinking deal breaker for me.
Then again I have this crazy thing called a brain.
So looking forward to seeing how the writers attempt to justify this so Liz is totally right in pursuing Jason and they are so true love forever....
What? You all know they are going to do that......
juniemoonie- 09-29-2008
OK so I was home today and watched in real time. NEVER let me do that again.
Liz needs to move on and fast. At least until Jason can make a face other than "bored with existence."
I wish I could feel bad for Kate, but I agree with Diane. She was warned.
Loved that Monica told Sonny off again but what good does it serve? Two seconds later he's talkng angry revenge talk into his fist. And the cycle continues.
None of the people I almost enjoy were on today. Love Robin and Patrick. Maybe unpopular opinion but I think I like Nik and Nadine too. She actually makes TC less robot like and he smiles a lot with her.
Although Mike and Tracy had some lines today! Yay!
That was almost cancelled out by the fact that Tracy was with wig on a stick and Luly but I'll take what I can get.
AdamPascalFan- 09-29-2008
Junie!!
The fast forward button is your friend! You Tube is your friend! Live watching is evil and keeps the myth alive that Guza is doing something right as watching live leads to ratings. At least allegedly.
Dare I dream that Monica getting her licks in was a sign of the return of Drunk Monica who I serioulsy loved for her truthy telling ways? Nah. Probably just a sign that she's the next Q to be Auf'ed.
Man I'm pessimistic today aren't i? See what Guza does to me?
