Oh for cripes sake! I thought Emily was GONE gone. How many long, drawn-out goodbye's are they going to have? Maybe Guza thinks that if he makes them say their farewells enough times, we'll look at the storyline as the "grea-*test*-('") love story ever told" that he seems to think it is.

We did get treated to some Cameron yesterday though. That was certainly welcome.

Cam's cute lil' ways are about the only thing that keep me hanging on to this show. And awesome Maxie.

Love Cam...always love Cam....Cam rules and should have been nominated for an Emmy...totally robbed he was. (Ohh! Like Yoda I talk! Fun annoying I will have)

However I was confused as to why Nik's family chose a birthday party over seeing him through surgery......it's not like Jake would knwo if they didn't celebrate ON his birthday....(and it wasn't since he was born on May 4th...not May 7th. I can read a calendar there Guza. As all the soap press mentioned...he was born the same day Greg's real life son was born...which was May 4th and I feel like a stalker for knowing that but there it is) and why Spencer wasn't around.....the Lucky thing was annoying but I did appreciate at least this year they gave a reasonable GOOD honorable excuse for no Lucky unlike say EMily's death when he was just "around". So I take that as progress...limited but progress. (and i know...Greg had a family tragedy and was out of the country adn wasn't available...but still its a step up that they at least acknowledge where Lucky is now when he's missing. Last year he could be gone for months and no explanation given)

As much as I love seeing Cameron..that party made no sense to me at all.

I actually enjoyed Luke and Nikolas scenes Thurs. - I thought Luke gave decent advice for once, and it's nice to see them sharing scenes.

I like that they toned down the alcohol as a coping mechanism for once and had Luke answer Nikolas honestly.

So, Becca's post on NS2 totally got me thinking about the whole Alternate Reality idea and the dream theory for Night Shift 1. They totally should have gone with that! It would have let them off the hook completely. They could just say, "it was a dream you assholes, it can suck and not make any sense, that's how dreams are." But, No. They are dumb. Anyway, later I caught myself thinking, "Did he really kill Georgie? No. He couldn't have. Could he? And Alan too? No way. That would be insane. Am I insane? I must be, right? WTF? Emily is dead too? Another Quartermaine!", etc. It went on for about five minutes, which is entirely too long to be considering anything GH/ Guza related. My point is, after all the thinking, I figured out how they can fix their show! I realize it has been a slow and downward spiral since Caroline Benson arrived about a decade ago and I can't fix that, but I can fix all the shit Guza has wrecked since Robin returned... All he has to do is, say, next Monday, have Robin wake up in a hospital bed. Then we can find out that she has been in a coma (why not, right? Guza loves a good coma) since the train wreck and the last 2 and 1/2 years, Night Shift included, has just been some dream (NIGHTMARE!) she had and Georgie, Alan, and Emily are all still alive and we can all just have a giant do-over cuz this show BLOWS!!! You Suck, Guza!

Oh, and Patrick can be a doctor they flew in to fix Robin so we still get to have Jason Thompson doing things hotly in the new, less sucky show...

Carly sure as heck is no Anna

Oh no kidding. I loathe the character of Carly and see her entrance onto GH as the beginning of the end of the greatness of this show. I've never seen anything heroic about her and never really got why we were supposed to think she was some iconic woman.

There's a new entry at Port Charles Chuckles regarding the destruction of female characters if anyone is interested:

I laughed out loud when Carly said "I can make it here and back in half an hour."

Isn't that every where in relation to Port Charles? You can make it to Russia and back by the end of a show.

Also, I don't think there was one single thing I enjoyed about Friday's episode. I despised every character except for Diane, but they are even making it hard for me to enjoy her because of the haminess of her and Max.

iloveKMc- 05-13-2008
Could Kimberly McCullough be any cuter? I actually liked this show today. The only thing that could have made it better would have been a Maxie sighting but I'll take what I can get!

iloveKMc- 05-17-2008
I hate to admit it but Laura Wright may have actually ripped my heart out a little at the end of Friday's episode and for a second I may have felt bad for Carly... Damn her.

(before the yucky making-out part)

Becca- 05-17-2008
Laura Wright has been fantastic. I might be engaged -- just a tiny little bit! -- in this storyline despite myself and all promises to the contrary, and she's a big reason why. Steve Burton has also been solid.

They have both been really good, but it still doesn't make up for the violence of shooting Michael in my book.

General Hospital has always had a good cast - - they just need to stop writing and plotting drivel for the actors to act and give them something worthy of their talent.

I'm with you. The violence and the "General Mob-ital"ness of this show has been pushing the envelope. Finally, I took it off the DVR today. Among the reasons:

1. How many times do we have to say goodbye to the most insolent, insufferable child in daytime? Please. Scenes with farewells to Michael (with the same four characters) helped me get my GH viewing time down each day.

2. Oh no, someone's messing with the patients! Again! And didn't this happen on the snoozefest that was GH:NS? It was boring then, and really, completely undermines the credibility of General Hospital as a medical insitution. Joe the bomber and his wife probably would have better luck at County.

3. A video blog? Really? Really?! I don't have the stats to back it up, but I spend a good chunk of my 9 to 5 time doing media research and working with people who work with media, and I'm pretty sure that if people are watching a vlog, it's not
going to be at RandomPregnantGirlWhoIsTheBiggestCliche.com. And how about worrying about creating a good storyline that isn't full of pregnant/baby-daddy and baby-momma stereotypes instead? These are supposed to be distinguished doctors, at the top of their field, and they are utter idiots.

4. The lack of continuity is just ridiculous. I think we've all recognized that, so there's no need to belabor it.

5. It just makes me mad. In my quest to achieve more Zen in my life, I need to get rid of things that are not real-life and aggravate me.

This is the first time I'm leaving b/c of genuine dislike (before, it was just timing and the lack of DVR in my life) but I'm sure I'll be back. The following may help, so ABC, if you're paying attention to the opinions of one ticked-off fan:

1. Get rid of Guza, Frons, and JFP (it bothers me that I share her initials).

2. Stop the mob madness.

3. Make GH a place that is actually more distinguished than other hospitals in upstate NY. I mean, it's so easy to get to Manhattan, everyone should just get a car and go there for medical care.

4. If and when you bring any of the folllowing characters back: Laura, Frisco, Brenda and Noah, please do so in a matter that makes it worth their and viewers' time. Actually, this applies for any other characters you bring back, current characters, and future ones, etc.

5. Stop ruining characters that don't need ruining (e.g., Sam, Lulu, Patrick) and stop redeeming those who are not worthy (e.g., Jerry, Claudia, Carly).

6. Pay attention to sinking ratings and let it dawn on you that you are doing something wrong.

7. If Elizabeth can upgrade to a fancy house, maybe get her a nicer car that doesn't always leave her stranded somewhere. It would take the burden off Jason; he has so many people to worrk about/save.

I'm looking forward to reading y'alls posts about the show. Now, what will I do with the extra 4+ hours a week I'm getting back??

As many as it takes until we all realize that Jason, Carly and Sonny are the bes-*test*-('") parents to ever parent and dang it don't they all just deserve Emmys for the same scene over and over again?

Well see if they addressed that bit of continuity...why then how else would they come up with totally contrived scenarios for them to have the exact same conversation that they had last month where they come to the exact same conclusion as they did then?

Are you suggesting that if they do the same scene over and over again maybe one will be so good it's worth an Emmy nod? Because that is where I think they're going with this.

I know a lot of people think that LW and SB have done a great job with this story, but I'm not in the camp, and it's probably colored by my angst-y history with them. I don't buy that they are truly sorry about the choices they made and it's too late for me, anyway. So even if the scenes are great, the history makes them worthless.

Proof that Carly's learned nothing: that would be sleeping with Sonny again. After banning him from seeing Michael. After declaring her love for Jax umpteen times. After getting ready to give Sonny the heave-ho as a parent. After having mistake sex with Sonny less than a year ago!!! Now I guess Kate will rape Jax and Carly will blame Jax.

AdamPascalFan- 05-19-2008
Amen Amen joannep..I am totally with you..I have called this storyline Emmy Bait since day one...and i so agree with you...if they aren't going to actually have these characters do anything different in the wake of this.....then all they are doing is boring me to tears.....actors bringing it or not. It's hard for me to buy the emotion when I'm thinking "Yeah...all well and good but if you really feel that way...why are we in this exact situation we were in last year. And the year before that. And why am I hearing the exact same dialogue again as well too?"
