HEE! About the Jason Thompson clone part.

Okay, I must, regretfully, take back my post of yesterday. Now, Leyla can HAVE Patrick's ass. I mean, he gets pissy and takes it out on Robin b/c the new kid in the sandbox borrowed his shiny new toy?! And I'm supposed to believe he loves-or, hell, EVER loved-her?! Um, NO. Until such time as the dick that has taken possession of Patrick's brain goes away and sends BeyondReasonPatrick back, Leyla can screw him to her heart's content-that way, I can fast-forward all Patdick and Ye Olde Wooden Face scenes and never have to miss any Robin scenes. And I'll tell y'all what-that Leo is looking better and better all the time. I'll take him for Robin.

Once again, Marianne, I whole-heartedly agree. I'm so tired of him yelling in her face about something she's supposed to do which is research because he's not going to get a piece of ass from Leyla that day. They can have each other. Bring on Leo and Robin!

Ugh. Why are all these (assumingly somewhat) intelligent nurses panting over this Kevin Connelly reject? He's not that attractive and his general assholishness reminds me of that other skeevy friend of Patrick's. I won't mention his name as it only conjures up horrific memories that threaten to send me into catatonia Laura Spencer-style.

How about, instead of creating "old" friends for Patrick, we show him OUTSIDE OF THE HOSPITAL (gasp!) making friends with people we actually care about. Lucky or Nikolas, perhaps? Not that they deserve to hang out with a jerk like Patrick, so I take that back. In the interest of the health and safety of the Port Charles citizens, I think it would be best that we keep Patrick's douchebaggery contained in the hospital. At least it's sterile in there.

And what was with him completely butting into Patrick & Robin's conversation? What is he, 13?

13 is generous if we're talking emotional maturity. Has Patrick ever had a male friend who wasn't an asshole?

Devlin looked a little cuter today. I think. I don't know. Maybe I'm drunk.

I'm with you KLe....I personally have been writing every single day begging for a Patrick/Lucky friendship....which of course totally means it won't happen....TIIC love to just keep me down.

I think Patrick is supposed to be one of our few good guys in town..(chill Marianne...I said SUPPOSED to be....)but seriously...his taste in friends SUCKS......I'm thinking an invention...A&E style....

what they should have done was to make Dr. Devlin the complete opposite of old - school, and unfortunately new again, Patrick instead of repeat Pete. they should have made him the sensitive, non - commitment phobic, pediatrician who really cant wait to settle down and have his own kids. that would have added another layer to this competition or whatever, instead we'll get a pissing match between two morons and watch them fall over themselves to bang the dumbest nurse in the history of dumb nurses.

Now, AdamPascalFan, I don't know WHAT you could mean by that. I am completely rational, and calm, and object-okay, yeah, I couldn't even type that w/a straight face, lol. I never claimed to be anything but a crazy-ass Robin fan-although, for the record, I do realize that she's not a real person......I just don't care, lol! Seriously, though, I totally get what you're saying-in this town, where even the guys who aren't murderers and criminals of one stripe or another have done some pretty crappy things-see, Lucky using Maxie for drugs (though myMaxie, as much as I love her, had as large, if not larger, a part in that as he did) and Nik wanting Emily to "just get over" being raped by his lookalike and throwing a fit and impregnanting Skipper the Stripper b/c she couldn't-Patrick's actually one of the better options right now. Which, I think, highlights the evil miscogyny of this show more than anything else. I mean, when all you've got to defend the guy in your pairing is, "Well, at least he never shot her in the head while she was giving birth to his child...", I think you have a problem, lol.

Actually i think we were in problem territory when the arguement that was "yeah parenthood! It's awesome!" included the phrase "No one is trying to kill you."

So when Guza repeats himself so blatantly with characters (Devlin being repeat Petey McCreepy) and storylines.....does he think we're stupid or blind? I think its obvious which he is....but still..... discuss....

As far as the Guza thing, I believe that, since he's gotten away w/bait-and-switch before-see, NS being sold as Robin/Patrick and then ACTUALLY being more "hitman is the bes-*test*-('") dude EVAH!" and the transformation of Dr. McDreamy to Dr. McDickhead and the reprehensible addition of Nurse Nasty to the mix, or Sweeps being sold as the coming together of Robin/Patrick once more and ACTUALLY being about Dr. McDickhead and Nurse Nasty again-and I'm sure, as a Liz/Lucky fan, you can think of MANY, MANY more examples-I think he honestly believes that he can write whatever the hell he wants to and manipulate the promos and mag articles to make fans think we're getting just the opposite, and he'll get away with it. And it SHOULD be the job of his bosses to stop him, but, with Guza and Phelps the only ones over him, you know.......

I'm starting to feel pathetic rooting for these two characters when I know path of distruction that Guza has caused to everyone I have ever invested energy into liking.

I think the minute I enjoy someone or a storyline on this show (which has rarely happened during his tenure) that is when I can expect it to all fall to shit in a matter of minutes (because that's how long it takes to build and end a storyline in Guza land unless it's something I hate like the TMK or the yet another mob showdown).

Yes Becca, you were drunk on second-viewing. Stick with your first instinct because Dr. Devlin is sooooo "that guy" you eviscerated in your three-sentence, spot-on character outline. Seriously, GH has the best casting director EVER in Mark Teschner, and this guy is supposed to be daytime's Dr. McSteamy?

I'm sure the actor who plays Devlin (Seamus Dever) is a nice guy, and in this picture I think he's cute as a bug's ear. But he's NOT brooding and devlish so who do we blame? Teschner for miscasting or the hair and wardrobe people? I lean towards a total wardrobe/makeup snafu because by the time they finish slathering handfuls of Sonny's Dippity-Do on poor Seamus, the effect is ... well ... repulsive.

I tend to cut Teschner a bit more slack because, after all, he IS the Emmy-winning casting director who hired Jason Thompson, Josh Duhon, Greg Vaughan and Jason Gedrick. He *knows* cute so there's got to be some reason he chose Seamus -- he must have looked cute at the audition. But even if he wasn't adorable, Teschner's brilliant even when hiring slimeballs. Look at Stephen Macht who plays Trevor Lansing -- that's a guy who looks dissolute and completely corrupt yet exudes power and danger. It was perfect casting.

I'm just not feeling Seamus Dever in the role yet -- he's not brutally hot enough to rival Patrick, although the dialogue indicates he's supposed to be gorgeous. And he doesn't have the presence of Macht to be a credible sleaze that Patrick would even bother having a rivalry with.

Dever may well grow into this role but as of right now I'm at a loss to figure what they're going for with this particular character/actor combo unless Semus Dever has blackmail pics of Fronz, Guza and a goat in a three-way.

I do hope the guy grows on me but so far I think it's a case of a cute, personable actor who is miscast for this particular role. Here are two more pics which, to me, show someone who is more vulnerabile and sensitive. Based on these pics, he'd be better cast as a "nice" character rather than a player/arse. Or perhaps some sort of character actor/young rebel according to some of his IMDB photos? Not sure. On the plus side, the guy has two masters degrees in acting, teaches acting at a local theatre group, and is a member of The Actors Studio as well as several other LA theatre groups. On paper he looks to be a good actor so perhaps he can pull the character off with sheer acting talent. Time will tell.

what are you talking about Marianne....bait and switch storytelling and convient re-writing of history at the same time as talking about the real history of the show has never EVER bitten my couple in the ass? and if you beleive that I got a dock I can sell you..its perfectly safe and you can tell your secrets there without fear of it being overheard by the one person you don't want to hear them. Really they are great.

I suspect the real culprit is the Guza outline of the character more than anything else.....Teschner has rocked for years.......in addition to Greg, Jason T, Jason G...he also found Jonathan Jackson, Amber Tamblyin and was the bug in Guza's ear about Becky Herbts audition for Sarah which lead to the creation of Liz....but I would be Guza got all distracted about Sarah Brown returning and went "Oh Patrick's friend? meh...give him....the exact same intro we gave Patrick with the exact same characteristics we gave Pete....it will work. No one watches for anyone who isn't connected to the mob anyways. Now lets get back to Claudia/Sonny/Jason...now that will be the story!"

No, I think Patrick met all of his buds at Asshole Prep School.

Hee! I don't doubt it went down like that, Beth, but there's still an element of the puzzle missing. Loathe as I am to give Guza *any* credit, I still have to wonder. I mean, yes, Guza probably just dragged out an old Patrick intro script and e-mailed it to Teschner. Then he asked the daily writer to pump it up a bit ("Have all the nurses talk about how hot he is. I know, pretend you're writing for Jason"). However, that doesn't explain why Teschner hired someone who definitely is NOT stud-muffin material but rather, a "nice guy" or "quirky" character type.

So either 1) there's something more planned for Dr. D (which I'm not seeing via the dialogue); 2) Guza gave Teschner the wrong character outline; 3) Dr. Devlin is the text message killer; 4) Teschner is sabataging Guza by miscasting his dialogue to make it look even more assinine; or 5) we're back to someone having pictures of Guza, Frons and/or Teschner with a goat.
